CHICAGO — Vice President made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention Monday night to fire up the crowd for a week that will end with her accepting the party’s nomination for president. During her very brief remarks, she paid tribute to President Biden, who is scheduled to speak later Monday. “This is going to be a great week and I want to kick us off by celebrating our incredible President Joe Biden,” she said.

to the top of the ticket. She pumped up the crowd, which was caught off guard by her sudden appearance. Ms.
