ON Wednesday, August 14 Halkyn Castle Woods hosts its first Families Wellbeing in Nature Day. Set in acres of stunning woodland, families will have the chance to explore the woods, bring a picnic, relax and enjoy the tranquil setting. Free activities such as art, music, fire lighting, campfire and s’mores will also be provided.

You can walk through the mixed woodland taking in natures sights and sounds and then relax in the hammock garden. There will also be the chance to speak to representatives from a large range of services, who can offer advice, signposting, training, educational, volunteering and employment opportunities. Alice Williams, Engagement & Progression Coordinator for Flintshire Council . She said: “There is so much support available in Flintshire that people are unaware of, so we do hope this event is one of many where young people and families can attend and engage in things to suit. (Image: Flintshire County Council) "It is such a beautiful place we want our community to be aware of it and enjoy.

We want to ensure people feel able to attend and feel at ease, relaxed, no pressure as we know anxiety is impacting a lot of our young people and we really want to help. "We can try and help with transport if needed. Do email inclusion@flintshire.
