The period between January to June 2023 was a great one for Indian cinema, particularly Bollywood. After a poor 2022, the year thereafter brought cheer as it saw the release of blockbusters like Pathaan and The Kerala Story . Such blockbusters were missing in the first six months of 2024.

Yet, overall, it was a healthy one for the Indian film industry. As per the latest ‘The Ormax India Box Office Report: January - June 2024’, the cumulative gross domestic box office collections of the films released in this period is Rs. 5,015 crores.
