Wednesday, September 18, 2024 Discover how the Halal Route App transforms the journey for Muslim travelers in Thailand, offering exceptional dining and sacred prayer facilities for a seamless experience. The Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University has introduced “Halal Route,” a mobile application designed to cater to the needs of Muslim travelers in Thailand. This app provides a comprehensive guide to restaurants, hotels, mosques, prayer directions, and tourist attractions that align with Islamic tourism principles.

Its primary goal is to ensure that Muslim tourists can explore Thailand with confidence while also supporting the local tourism industry by accommodating the increasing number of Muslim visitors. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) projects that the global Muslim tourism market will reach approximately 168 million travelers in 2024. Despite Thailand being ranked 32nd in the Mastercard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI 2024), Muslim tourists often face challenges in locating Halal-certified restaurants, hotels, and attractions equipped with facilities like prayer rooms.

To address these challenges, the “Halal Route” app functions as a travel aggregator, offering searchable information on Halal dining options, mosques, prayer locations, qibla directions, and Muslim-friendly accommodations. The app is integrated with Google Maps to ensure accurate navigation and is available in three languages: Thai, English, and Arabic. This allo.
