Welsh singer Ian 'H' Watkins has impressed the judges and viewers in the first episode of this year's Celebrity Masterchef. The performer, who has been a member of British pop band Steps for 25 years, was one of the first celebrities to compete in the 19th series of the BBC celebrity cooking programme. In the first episode, which was aired on Tuesday, August 13, H explained he was feeling "nervous" ahead of taking on the challenge of the MasterChef kitchen.

He said: "I’m nervous because all I’ve ever known – please don't judge me – is a microwave and an air fryer. That’s what I live by. I’m sorry!" The singer then added: "I’ve done amazing things in my career you know? We sell out the O2 and I don’t get nervous but this is a completely different ballgame.

I’m hoping I can bribe the boys (judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace) maybe with some Steps tickets."
