Guillermo García Calvo has joined the roster of GoDirect for General Management. Calvo is the Music Director at the Theater Chemnitz, and has conducted at many of the great opera houses in the world including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Wiener Staatsoper, Ópera de París, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the Teatro Real de Madrid. In 2003, he made his debut in Vienna, where he has conducted more than 50 operas.

He has also conducted more than 200 performances of Opera and ballet around the world from composers such as Verdi, Humperdinck, Donizetti, and Mozart. In Spain, he made his debut in 2011 at the Teatro Campoamor with “Tristan und Isolde” and since then he has conducted “Der Ring des Nibelungen.” This season, Calvo will conduct Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, “La traviata” at the Las Palmas, and a Wagner Gala at the Kärntner Sinfonieorchester.

He also conducts Juan Diego Florez’s latest Zarzuela album. Categories.
