Jessica Capshaw has opened up about the "deep sadness" she felt following a miscarriage, after a routine scan revealed no heartbeat for her expected baby. The Grey's Anatomy star, who is a doting mum to four kids with her spouse Christopher Gavigan, shared her painful experience on the iHeartRadio podcast Call It What It Is, which she co-hosts with actress Camilla Luddington. During the emotional episode, Capshaw said: "I got pregnant and I was so excited and I had never had any issues before getting pregnant," and continued by saying how fortunate she had been in the past.

She went on to describe the shocking moment during her 10-week check-up: "And then all of a sudden, at my 10-week appointment, [I] went in for the ultrasound, was by myself, totally unsuspecting, and there was no heartbeat."
