Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Sunday said that the Congress government in the state is the first one in the country to openly urge retired employees to take their retirement benefits after three years instead of providing them within one week or one month. This reflects their bankruptcy, he said.

Taking part in a retired teacher felicitation function at Siddipet, Rao pointed out that government had to get six dearness allowances whereas the government had paid them only one DA so far. The Congress made a promise of forming a new pay revision committee and implementing the old pension scheme during elections, but it is not uttering a single word after coming to power. Though 7,000 teachers have retired after Congress came to power, not even a single teacher has received retirement benefits, which is nothing short of a crime, he said.

Referring to the hospitalisation of 60 students from a tribal gurukul in Wankidi in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, Rao said that the negligence and careless attitude of the state government has come as a curse for students. It is unfortunate that the state government had not responded even after 60 students were hospitalised, some of whom are on ventilators, he said..
