Mohali: In a move that will excite people who love to travel, the Indian Railways has announced a new direct train from Chandigarh to Udaipur. The Chetak Express , which currently runs between Udaipur and Sarai Rohilla in Delhi, will be extended to Chandigarh, making it the first direct train to connect the city of lakes with the city beautiful. The extended Chetak Express will pass through Sonipat, Gurugram, Rewari, Ringhas, Ajmer Bhilwara and Chittorgarh providing a convenient travel option for passengers from these areas as well.

The train (20473) will depart from Chandigarh at 3.45pm, reaching Sonipat at 7pm and Sarai Rohilla at 7.40pm, Gurugram at 8.

15pm, Rewari 9.21pm, Ringhas 11.31pm, Ajmer 2.

10 am (the following day), Bhilwara at 7am, Chittorgarh at 5.25am and Udaipur at 7.25am.

This train gives first ever connectivity from Chandigarh to Ringhas, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Udaipur. While the train number 20474 will depart from Udaipur at 5.04pm and will reach Sonipat at 6.

10am the following day and Chandigarh at 9.15 am. This new train also gives another option for passengers aspiring to reach pilgrimage at Ajmer Sharif and Ringhas from Chandigarh.

This train given option for many to reach Gurugram, Ajmer as Ajmer Vande Bharat Express also stops at Gurugram and one more train connects Ajmer with Chandigarh. Currently, passengers traveling from Chandigarh to Udaipur have to go to Delhi to catch a train, which is time-consuming and expensive. The Chetak Express also pass.
