Good Morning Britain's Trisha Goddard had to say sorry live on air after she appeared disengaged while the show was addressing a piece about Love Island. The 66-year-old presenter, along with her co-host Richard Madeley, 68, was at the helm on Thursday (August 15), engaging viewers with news from across the UK and beyond. However, Trisha seemed notably uninterested in one particular topic.

As the cameras returned to her, the veteran broadcaster confessed she was "poking my eyes out" right before they delved into the ins and outs of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Furys relationship. The previous day it had emerged that the Love Island couple had called it quits after five years together. But covering their split wasnt Trisha's cup of tea.

Cameras captured her saying, "I'm sorry. Sorry, you caught me! Poking my eyes out!" Subsequently, Trisha seemed to criticise the production team over the choice of story, questioning, "But do you need 6 stories one after the other about someone's private life?", reports the Mirror . Entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold, who was set to delve further into the topic, humorously suggested he might exit the stage early, intimating hed welcome a chance to escape after Trisha's open disapproval.

Despite the surprise of Molly and Tommy's breakup creating waves in the celeb world, some members of the audience sided with Trisha, as demonstrated by one social media user stating: "Agree 100 % With Trisha. Who gives a flying F**K about Tommy Fury's love .
