The Good Morning Britain host spoke to the Liberal Democrat leader on Monday morning ahead of their annual party conference. During the conversation, both Richard and Susanna Reid asked Ed whether he regrets the Liberal Democrats decision to go into government with the Conservatives in 2010 and the impact of austerity on the NHS.

In one part of the interview, Susanna was grilling the MP as she said: "I'm not asking abbout 2015 with all due respect, I'm aksing about 2010." As she continued talking, the MP closed his eyes and with his eyes still closed said: "I was about to confirm." He then looked away from the camera, avoiding contact, while Susanna continued to quiz him.
