Monday, July 8, 2024 Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) (“Southwest”) has appointed Rakesh Gangwal to its Board of Directors, effective July 7th. Gangwal brings extensive experience in the airline industry, notably as the co-founder of IndiGo, India’s largest airline by fleet size and passenger volume.

Before launching IndiGo in 2006, Gangwal held leadership positions including Chairman, President, and CEO at Worldspan Technologies, a provider of travel and transportation technology services.
