The Glasgow Greens have revealed their candidate for the Partick East/Kelvindale by-election. Heloise Le Moal, originally from France, will be contesting the seat for the Scottish Greens on December 5. The Glasgow Green Party is standing candidates in all four wards going to the polls.

The party say they are looking to build on their record results in July’s general election and their first by-election win in Hillhead earlier this year. Ms Le Moal moved to Partick in 2022 after living in Inverness for six years and has been a Green member since 2016. "Partick is my home and I know full well its strength of character and rich diversity, as well as the challenges people face - from recycling and litter, to sky-high rent and soaring bills, to the accessibility and safety of our streets to flooding. "For too long men in suits have been allowed to dominate the political landscape. "As a young woman, I also want to add my input and support to the incredible work the Glasgow’s Green councillors have been doing to make the city more welcoming and inclusive.

"The Greens are the only alternative choice to protect the people and the planet." Joining Ms Le Moal will be candidates in three other by-elections across the city on November 21. For.
