TikToker Rachel Raab, who uses the @itsraininglegs handle on the platform, has detailed her genius method for reviving cut hydrangeas. The plant is well-known for suffering during heatwaves or hot weather in general. The reason is that high temperatures may lead to a lack of water in the soil, which means it can't reach parts of the plant and its tissue will start to die.

This is why struggling hydrangeas usually have brown and crispy leaf edges. Rachel's guidance quickly racked up over 30,000 views. The mother, who also posts clips with her family, said it was the "ultimate hydrangea hack".

She explained: "Simply cut off an inch of the stem and replace the water with the hottest water out of your sink and wait." She said the trick is "one of my favourite hacks I thought everyone knew! Turns out no one does". Adding a little more detail, she said: "Cut about one inch off the stems and immediately put them in the hottest that comes out of your sink.
