Security has reportedly been ramped up on the set of Gavin and Stacey after a major storyline was leaked. It has been said that a huge plot point was accidentally pictured in snaps of James Corden holding the script of the special episode, which is due to air this year. Fans have been over the moon as the cast has spent the last several weeks in Wales filming for the beloved series.

They have been pictured in many locations, but TV host James, who is best known as Smithy, is understood to have been seen holding a script in one of them. At the time, he was on set in a department store. According to sources, the cast, including the likes of Joanna Page and Ruth Jones, were told to keep the scripts hidden away.

James and Ruth were most recently snapped holding hands as they approached eager fans waiting to greet them in Barry. Fans of the popular show are counting down to the festive season when it is expected another Christmas special episode of the long-running sitcom will be aired. The last episode to be produced was in 2019 - and this 2024 festive special has been written as a grand finale to end the show once and for all.

Speaking of the leak, a source recently said that interest is "at an all-time high". They said to The Sun : "Every day fans are flocking to the filming sites in Cardiff and Barry Island to see the cast filming and take their own photos and selfies. It’s a challenge trying to keep key storylines under wraps but the cast have been reminded to be on alert.
