The coveted Chef of the Year title was awarded to Tomaž Kavčič of Gostilna Pri Lojzetu, recognized for his outstanding contributions to Slovenian gastronomy.Held on March 18, 2025, in Ljubljana’s Festival Hall, the award ceremony honored Slovenia’s most talented chefs, restaurateurs, and sommeliers. Minister of the Economy, Tourism, and Sports, Matjaž Han, congratulated all winners, emphasizing Slovenia’s commitment to promoting sustainable gastronomy and tourism.
According to STO Director MSc. Maja Pak Olaj, Slovenia is reinforcing its culinary identity through sustainability and innovation. The Slovenia Green label continues to highlight environmentally responsible restaurants, while Gostilna Slovenija-certified establishments preserve the country’s rich gostilna (traditional inn) culture.
