A former makeup artist and hairstylist for Garth Brooks accused the country music superstar of raping her in a Los Angeles hotel room in May 2019, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (local time). The woman, who filed the complaint under the name Jane Roe, said that after the alleged assault, Brooks sexually harassed her and repeatedly made explicit comments until she stopped working for him around two years later. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Brooks vehemently denied the accusations and said the woman, who lives in Mississippi , told him she would go public with her allegations unless he paid her millions.

Last month, Brooks filed a lawsuit against the woman (keeping their identities anonymous) in the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi for extortion and defamation. “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face,” Brooks said in a statement via his publicist.

“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behaviour I am incapable of - ugly acts no human should ever do to another. “We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character.

We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides,” Bro.
