Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old man from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, employed as a gardener with a nursery on Science City Road in Sola , on Sunday filed a complaint with Bodakdev police alleging that a man attacked him with a stick when he was planting two saplings for his client. Jagdish Rawat said that a man named Suresh Bharwad came to him on Saturday morning and told him that he wanted to plant saplings of tulsi and money plant in his house. Rawat said that he went to Suresh’s house later in the day with two saplings and some fertilizer.

When he was preparing the ground there, Suresh’s neighbour, Babu Bharwad, objected to the saplings being planted. Furious, he asked Rawat not to plant any saplings there and began abusing him. He hit Rawat on his left hand and back with a stick, injuring him.

Bystanders intervened and rushed Rawat to Sola Civil Hospital in an ambulance. Rawat suffered a fracture to his left elbow. Bodakdev police registered a complaint against Babu and began an investigation.
