Officials said while Ganga was flowing about 3m below the danger mark at Phaphamau (81.73m) and Chhatnaag (81.
56m), the water level of Yamuna was about 2.70m below the danger mark. They said the level of Ganga at Phaphamau increased by 12cm in the past 4 hours while it was stable at Chhatnaag.
Similarly, Yamuna (82.03m) declined 5 cm in the past four hours. The danger mark of both rivers is 84.

Following the fluctuations in the water level of the twin rivers, the local administration and flood control department are taking corrective measures and even deployed boats at Badra-Sunauti and Panama-Kachari routes after the connecting route of two villages got inundated. As the floodwater entered low-lying areas like Rajapur, Baghara, Salori, Mau Kachar, Ganga Nagar, Newada Chilla, Jhunsi, Naini, and Sadiapur, the local administration has alerted all 88 flood relief posts, known as Bad Chaukis, and a high vigil is being maintained.
Officials said as many as 90 flood relief camps have been identified and necessary arrangements made. Many residents have already moved to safer places. District administrative officials have asked residents in low-lying areas to maintain a strict watch and vacate their houses and move towards safer places and floo.
