Electric Picnic is known for its chilled-out vibes Music festival Electric Picnic has announced a Gaeltacht Campsite will return this year in an effort to promote the Irish language and culture. The Stradbally festival made the announcement in partnership with the Irish language advocacy group Conradh na Gaeilge's Croí na Féile initiative. The campsite will be called An Láthair Ghaeltachta and will be a hot spot for Irish-speaking festival goers.

The campsite exclusively for gaeilgeoirs has been a staple at the festival since 2018. Attendees at the three-day festival, which takes place from August 16-18, will have the opportunity to get involved in an Irish-speaking environment, pitching their tents at the designated site. The Irish language experience at Electric Picnic will include the An Chollchoill stage in which festival goers can listen to a mix of traditional music every night from 7pm until midnight.

The stage will host a mix of traditional and contemporary acts, including Irish language artists such as Burnchurch and Huartán, DJ performances from Ailbhe Ní Riain and the renowned Bandia group known for their Irish language covers. Orlaith Nic Ghearailt of Conradh na Gaeilge said: "Electric Picnic is a cornerstone of Ireland’s summer social calendar, bringing together thousands of people to celebrate through music and culture. “Festivals give us the opportunity to express ourselves in a unique way — and what is language but an expression of identity.
