Pune: A letter signed by ‘ Gabbar ' targeting NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar for ‘forcing' his grandnephew Yugendra Pawar on Baramati voters has gone viral. It is the second such letter in a fortnight on social media platforms. ‘Gabbar' is an iconic villain from the Bollywood film Sholay from the mid-1970s.

Following the split in the NCP, there has hardly been a dull day in the Pawar clan's bastion. During the Lok Sabha election, when both factions of the NCP fought fierce campaigns, letters targeting both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar went viral. Now that the assembly election is close, similar anonymous letters have emerged.

Earlier, a letter targeted Ajit Pawar but the latest one written by ‘Gabbar' criticised Sharad Pawar and Baramati MP Supriya Sule, alleging that during the LS campaign, the NCP (SCP) played the emotional card but after winning, the Baramati MP does not answer calls. The letter also poked at Sharad Pawar's grandnephew Yugendra who may get the party ticket for the assembly poll. "Baramati gave you (Sharad Pawar) a lot of love and helped you become chief minister four times.

Later, you passed on the legacy to Dada (Ajit Pawar) and he contributed to the development of the tehsil. Yet later, you brought one of your grandnephews (Rohit Pawar) into politics and made him a Zilla Parishad member and when he gained some experience, he was elevated to an MLA. However, why are you directly trying to make another grandnephew (Yugendra Pawar) an MLA?" the letter .
