Gladiator Fury says making her live TV debut will "100 per cent" be scarier than battling contestants on the BBC show's battle ropes or gauntlet. The former rugby union player, 23 - real name Jodie Ounsley - this year joins Channel 4's Paralympics presenting team as a roving reporter. And she admitted her nerves are building ahead of the coverage launch later this month.

Speaking on the Daily Mirror's Invite Only podcast, Jodie, who has a cochlear implant, said: "It's all very new to me, and I think I'm being thrown in the deep end, but I love new experiences. And I've always been a big fan of Paralympics and the Olympics. I've come from a rugby background, but I did always have the dream of being an Olympian one day.

So this has just been a different approach...

it's just a bit surreal to be here. Deaf people don't compete in the Paralympics because there's the Deaflympics. But it's really nice to be bringing those two worlds together.

" She went on: "Is it scarier to be a reporter in Paris 2024 or to face a contestant on Gladiators? Definitely Paris, 100 percent yeah. It's completely new territory for me but I'm just excited to throw myself into it. I've been having a bit of training and the guys have been amazing with me.

Especially with the Yorkshire accent, I need to sort of get rid of a couple of (phrases), you know, 'you're alright, love' and all this stuff. They're like: 'You can't really do that'. But I love feedback, so I just take it all on board.

" After landing her.
