A two-month festival is set to begin next month to provide events and activities the over-50s. The Full of Life festival will take place across East Sussex in September and October to mark the United Nations’ International Day of Older Persons on October 1. The aim of the event is to provide opportunities for people over the age of 50 who may need help getting out and about in the community.

The festival will also have activities to encourage healthy ageing such as chair yoga, ear health and sleep workshops, ‘Functional Fit’ MOTs, and one to one Life Transitions sessions to help individuals plan for the future. Many of the events have been organised by East Sussex Seniors’ Association senior forum groups which, as well as holding social events and offering help and advice to older people, provide a collective voice for the over 50s across the county.

The festival is supported by East Sussex County Council, East Sussex Seniors’ Association, and the NHS, in partnership with leisure centres, councils, charities, and community and voluntary organisations.
