Pune: Water shortage , poor roads and regular traffic snarls were among the key issues raised by housing society representatives in Wagholi at the meeting with Dnyaneshwar Katke , who is aspiring to contest the assembly election from Shirur-Haveli constituency. The interaction was part of the ‘Know Your Candidate' initiative by Wagholi Housing Societies Association (WHSA). The meeting at Green Republic Society, Lohegaon Road, on Saturday was attended by residents, office-bearers of various housing societies and members of WHSA .
Santosh Krishna, director, WHSA, said, "The discussions mainly revolved around the micro issues faced by Wagholi residents and the solutions for the same. The long-pending issue of three-tier six-lane elevated road stretch from Wagholi to Ranjangaon was also discussed, apart from irregular water supply, which is a major concern. There is no water supply for societies along Lohegaon Road.
" The residents said that the constituency's population has increased significantly in the last few years, and the existing infrastructure is not adequate to fulfil people's demands. A resident of Ivy Estate in Wagholi said, "Poor road conditions, especially along Lohegaon-Wagholi stretch, have been a major issue for us. Additionally, there is no alternative route from Lohegaon Road to Nagar Road highway.
We are drawing the attention of candidates towards these problems so that they can look at them on an immediate basis as soon as the elections get over and a new go.
