WITH party season already in full swing, a non-negotiable for me at this time of year is a lipstick that doesn’t budge, so I put three new longwear liquid lipsticks to the test . . .

I love the tear-shaped applicator, as it means you can really line the edges of your lips for a neat finish without needing a lip liner. I also really like the colour pay off, as one swipe was plenty, but I found the colour started to crack after a few hours, and you have to completely remove it before reapplying or it looks congealed and cakey. It’s a great lipstick to wear for a few hours, but not ideal for long periods of time.

Kylie Cosmetics Plumping Powder Matte Liquid Lipstick, £21 for 3ml, lookfantastic.com – Kylie Jenner’s Cosmetics range put liquid lipsticks on the map back in 2015 with the launch of Kylie Lip Kits, so I was expecting great things. It combines the tingling sensation of a plumping lip gloss and the staying power of a matte lipstick, which is something completely new to me.

The combination left my lips feeling dry by the end of the day, but I didn’t need to touch up once and I even ate pizza for lunch. So if you want something low- maintenance (and can deal with the tingling) then this tops the lot. Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Liquid Lip, £36 for 6ml, boots.
