On a warm Monday evening on the Upper West Side, the Friends of the CFDA gathered at the homes of Stacey Bendet Eisner and Laurence Milstein to toast the group’s initiatives and provide a forum for industry conversation, light bites, and a taste of the season ahead. An invite-only group of individuals across the worlds of philanthropy and fashion, their work supports the endeavors of the CFDA, from programs built around young designers and sustainability strategy to diversity and industry education. The evening brought together various champions of American fashion, from Nicky Hilton Rothschild and Amy Fine Collins to CFDA Chairman Thom Browne and a series of member designers.

The event was split into two parts: savory snacks and a cocktail at Bendet Eisner’s residence, then dessert and champagne across the way at Milstein’s home. With the clinking of a glass, Bendet Eisner opened the evening’s remarks. “Thom’s idea was to create a community of friends to support designers, and I’m so glad that we’re all here tonight,” she shared.

“We’re excited to have this group, who are so passionate about furthering fashion and creativity.” The Friends of the CFDA is aptly helmed by theater producer, couture collector, and sartorial inspiration Jordan Roth (wearing a decadent Kate Barton gown for the occasion). Nominated by Browne upon its founding, Roth brings a signature drive and vision to the Friends of the CFDA.
