Alain Delon has died aged 88 (Image: Getty) French actor Alain Delon has died at the age of 88, his family has announced. Delon was best known for his roles in films such as Purple Noon (1960), The Leopard (1963) and Le Samourai (1967). A statement released by his family said: "Alain Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony, as well as (his dog) Loubo, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their father.
"He passed away peacefully in his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and his family." Their family added that Delon's death occurred "very early in the middle of the night". Delon had been battling with his health since 2019 after he suffered a stroke and rarely left his estate in Douchy, in France's Val de Loire region.
His last major public appearance came in May 2019 when he received an honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes film festival. READ MORE..
