Disney is revealing more details about its highly anticipated Freaky Friday sequel. Original stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are reuniting for the upcoming follow-up to the 2003 movie. Both were in attendance at D23, Disney’s biennial fan event, on August 9.
There, they opened up about what to expect from the next chapter of the body-swapping comedy. ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel gets title, ‘Freakier Friday’ Freaky Friday follows teenager Anna Coleman (Lohan) and her mom, Tess (Curtis), who wake up one morning in the other’s body. The strange switcheroo leads the at-odds duo to a better understanding of the other’s situation.
The sequel, which will be titled Freakier Friday , will pick up years later with older versions of Anna and Tess. “Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter,” reads Disney’s synopsis of the upcoming movie. “As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
” In addition to Lohan and Curtis, the new movie will feature several other original cast members, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray , Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. Manny Jacinto will play Lohan’s husband.
