These scanners will be integrated into current security lanes and new ones anticipated for future expansion. Set to be delivered across three years, this installation is part of a broader security enhancement strategy.

Rohde & Schwarz was chosen for their proven track record with the R&S QPS201 scanner, which is renowned for its superior detection capabilities. This model utilizes cutting-edge millimeter-wave technology and AI-driven algorithms to detect prohibited items effectively, adhering to stringent regulatory standards while keeping false alarms to a minimum, thus streamlining the security process for both travelers and personnel. The agreement is a continuation of Fraport’s mandate to oversee security operations at Frankfurt Airport—a role that transitioned from the German Federal Police in 2023.
