FRANKFORT — The 11th annual Frankfort Beer Week will take place from Sept. 30 through Oct. 5 at breweries and restaurants in Frankfort and Elberta.
Many participants will offer beer and food pairings and special meals throughout the week. Nick Crawford and his wife Natalie own three businesses in Benzie County. They will host a beer versus wine dinner at 6 p.
m. Oct. 5 at Birch and Maple .
Nick said this is their second time doing this culinary event. Last year, they served four courses, but this year bumped it up to five. “We’re taking a reality TV show and letting our guests be a part of that,” Crawford said.
“Our goal is to create a menu that is a little more beer friendly.” Each of the five courses will be served with a Michigan brew — whether from Stormcloud Brewing Company or Ludington Bay Brewing Co. Each table can discuss the pairings and vote for their favorite.
“Chef Natalie made the menu to introduce new things to our guests,” Crawford said. “It’s a great opportunity for people outside of the Frankfort area.” On Oct.
5, Birch and Maple will only be open for this event. The meal is $85 per person. To reserve a spot, call the restaurant at 231-399-0399.
The Crawfords’ other eateries will also participate. Dos Arboles will have a beer and food special made with Stormcloud Brewing Company’s Nightswimmer Stout. Mayfair Burger Bar is offering a cheeseburger and draft beer for $10.
