Four people have been arrested after US actor Johnny Wactor was fatally shot in an attempted robbery . The General Hospital star, 37, was killed as a group allegedly tried to steal a part from his car on May 25. Three of the men arrested in Los Angeles - Robert Barceleau, Leonel Gutierrez, and Sergio Estrada - have been arrested for murder.

A fourth, Frank Olano, is said to be facing a charge of accessory to murder. The actor, who starred as Brando Corbin in the long-running US soap opera was killed in downtown Los Angeles early of the morning. Shortly after news broke, it was revealed he saved the life of his female co-worker by putting his body between her and armed car thieves.

Johnny had left his side job at a bar with a female colleague shortly before the fatal incident at around 3.25am. He is said to have spotted three men near his vehicle who he had thought were towing his car.

However, they were allegedly trying to steal his catalytic converter. It's said the actor approached the men to question the apparent towing when a man reportedly pointed a gun at him. He is said to have put his body in front of his co-worker before being shot.

The masked men were then said to have fled the scene in another vehicle. Although paramedics rushed to the scene, Johnny was pronounced dead at hospital. Following the tragedy, Johnny's brother spoke about his final act of bravery.

Speaking to the Daily Mail , he said: "We're Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk.
