Panaji: Govt laid the foundation stone for a five-star resort at Anjuna in North Goa on Wednesday. The project, ‘ Taj Anjuna Goa ’, a 5-star resort with a wedding destination , will be built under the “private investment mode.” This project is a joint venture by Goa Tourism Development Corporation ( GTDC ), Myrayash SPV of Bharat Realty Venture, supported by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).

This resort will have over 150 rooms, a banquet hall, and other luxury facilities in its premises. Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, who attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony, urged the group to reserve jobs for candidates from her constituency once the hotel construction is completed. “By ensuring that the residents of the area are the primary beneficiaries of the newly created jobs, the initiative will not only foster economic development but also contribute to the overall welfare of our local population.

This approach will guarantee that the project’s success is deeply rooted in the growth and prosperity of the people who call this place home,” the legislator said. Lobo further said that the transformation of the location into a sought-after wedding venue will mark a significant achievement for the tourism department.
