Fortnite fans are counting down to the release of update 31.30 on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. The third major content update of the current season will introduce new gameplay features, add new items and skins to the game files, and set things up for the upcoming Fortnitemares Halloween event later this month.

Update 31.30 has an October 1 release date, although the new content won't actually be available to play until after an extended period of server downtime. According to Fortnite developer Epic Games , server maintenance is scheduled to begin at 9am BST UK time, although matchmaking will be disabled at around 8.

30am BST. The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside details about one of the new features coming as part of version 31.30.

"Downtime for v31.30 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand," Epic explains. "Starting in v31.

30, Fortnite will go into Sleep Mode after a player is inactive for 15 minutes, letting your squad know you stepped away "When in Sleep Mode, Voice Chat is paused & matchmaking is canceled. This timer can be adjusted under Game > Sleep Mode & Energy Saving." In addition to Sleep Mode, Epic is expected to add game files for the Fortnitemares Halloween event.

It's worth pointing out, however, that Fortnitemares isn't expected to launch until after the next big update. Elsewhere, Epic Games has announced plans to bring TMNT to Creative, while Fortnite insider Shiina claim.
