Fortnite fans are counting down to the release of Chapter 5, Season 4 on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, PC, Android and Switch. The new Fortnite season will make its debut on the morning of August 16, but only after a lengthy period of server downtime on all platforms. The servers will be taken offline at around 4am BST UK time and are likely to remain down until around 10am BST.

On the plus side, while the servers are down, you can at least download and install update 31.00. With file sizes likely to be bigger than usual, downloading the update early means you'll be able to jump into the action the moment the servers come back online.

And judging by all the hype from Epic Games , the Season 4 update will be well worth checking out. New Battle Pass characters include Doctor Doom and Gwenpool, as well as new variants for Wolverine and Captain America.

Various Mythic weapons and Marvel-themed items will also join Fortnite throughout the course of the season. This includes Captain America's Shield, Peelyverine's Claws and Gwenpool's Blades, as well as new sniper rifles, pistols and lots more. Needless to say, Epic Games will also make a host of gamep.
