Home fans at FirstBank Stadium couldn't hold back their excitement after watching their very own Vanderbilt Commodores take down the Alabama Crimson Tide in upset fashion on Saturday. With quarterback Diego Pavia leading the way, the Commodores stunned all of college football by handing the Crimson Tide their first loss of the season. Pavia was sensational in the contest, recording 252 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-22 pass completion.
He was also terrific on the ground, tallying 20 carries for 56 yards as Vanderbilt football completed the 40-35 victory. It was a remarkable win for Vanderbilt. Not only was it the school's first-ever win against a Top-5 opponent, but it was also the team's first victory over Alabama since 1984 and the most points it has scored over the Crimson Tide since 1906, per Ross Dellenger.
It's certainly more than enough reason to celebrate, and they didn't hold back in commemorating the achievement. Amid the celebrations on the field, the home fans were seen taking down a goal post from the game. DOWN GOES THE FIELD GOAL POSTS!!! pic.

"Word on the street is the goalpost is heading to broadway no I’m not kidding," Lang wrote. © Butch Dill-Imagn Images Considering what the unranked Vanderbilt just did, no one can blame the fans for celebrating like crazy. .
