During the Covid pandemic I decided to complete my teacher training course and become a Pilates instructor. At the time I was inadvertently exercising six days a week — because to pass the course you actually need to be able to do most of Joseph Pilates’ classic moves — so I wasn’t looking for any extra curricular activities. But after I completed the course I also didn’t want to just train myself all the time.
I’m a big believer that a teacher will push me further than I’ll push myself on the mat. Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today So therein lay my conundrum. I used to visit Kirsten King’s Fluidform Pilates studio when I lived closeby to one but have recently found it difficult to marry the time of the classes with my work schedule.
Thankfully, Fluiform has an app with more than 300 workouts and 100 challenges to complete so I can just set up my Lululemon mat in the living room and start practicing. The app can be purchased in a few ways. A one month subscription will set you back $20, quarterly will set you back $54 and for a full year you’ll pay just $190.
And if you buy the 12-month plan Fluidform will even send you a free equipment pack with sliders, a ball and bands to get you started. I love Kirsten’s philosophy, which outlines how a 20 minute workout a few times a week is all you need to start transforming your body. I instantly notice a difference, particularly to my posture, after I’ve finished one of the Fluidform workouts .
