Floyd Mayweather has already cast an easy prediction if Jake Paul was to fight Canelo Alvarez. Paul recently defeated 58-year-old heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in a huge event, which saw him pick up his eleventh professional win. After the fight, the 'Problem Child' renewed his plan to 168lbs unified world champion and boxing superstar Alvarez.
He has regularly made it his challenge to lure the Mexican into a huge mega-fight, insisting he plans to take the sport seriously and become a world champion. But Alvarez's former conqueror Mayweather, who beat him in September 2013, believes it will be extremely one-sided. “He’d get f***ed up by Canelo,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports .
“There’s no way [he would win] he’d get demolished.” He added on Paul's career: "Jake Paul, I mean as of right now for what he’s doing, it’s good for what he’s doing but once he fights a real actual fighter, it’s going to be bad. "One thing I do like about him, he’s selling it and he’s making good money and he’s entertaining, I like it.
” Alvarez is currently in the top ten of the pound-for-pound rankings and has shared the ring with a star-studded list of greats. He has previously refused to shut the door on a fight with Paul despite his inexperience. Alvarez and Paul could generate huge commercial interest again, and both be set for lucrative paydays if the fight was to be made.
It would currently be unlikely given Paul does not yet have a world ranking, and would need to fig.
