Floral tributes laid following death of 'beautiful' Gateshead woman who 'lit up every room'

Flowers have been placed near a police cordon in Gateshead following the death of a woman in the area. Emergency services were called to Appledore Close, in Greenside, at around 10.20pm last night following a report of a disturbance in the area.

On arrival they found a woman in her 30s with serious injuries consistent with being caused by an assault. Despite the efforts of paramedics the woman was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained Family Liaison Officers.
