When flights are late, it is annoying for some and a disaster for those catching connecting flights, but most travelers have become so used to it that it barely registers with them. Have we become so de-sensitized to lateness that air travelers are more surprised when a flight runs to schedule, rather that getting there as expected? Flair is Canada's leader in September What is particularly notable is when a low-carrier leads the on-time performance, as they often operate to shorter turnarounds with fewer resources and margins for error than their larger competitors. So, hat's off to Canada's Flair Airlines (Flair) for being the most punctual airline in Canada in September and the sixth most on-time in North America.
In September, Flair's Boeing 737s soared to Canada's top spot by achieving an impressive 83.4% on-time performance (OTP). The airline, known for its affordable fares, is fulfilling its commitment to reliability through its dedication to being on time every time.
We always need to remember that OTP is affected by many factors entirely outside of an airline's control, so keeping 83.4% of flights on schedule is getting very close to "as good as it gets," with only six North American airlines doing better. Looking at the state of Canadian aviation, Flair led the way with 83.
4% on-time, followed by WestJet (82.1%), Porter Airlines (80.8%) and Air Canada (77.
1%). Speaking about the September result, Flair Airlines Interim CEO Maciej Wilk said the airline understands it.
