THIS is the first glimpse of a best-selling car brand's new SUV model, which is set to be released within weeks. The mid-sized motor is positioned to rival similar offerings from firms like Peugeot and Kia . 1 Fans have been given the first look at the new Cupra Terramar Credit: seat-mediacenter Cupra is preparing to add to its rapidly expanding lineup, which so far boasts the popular Leon and Formentor .

The new Terramar was first announced two years ago but has now been confirmed for its much-anticipated debut. It will be the Spanish firm's final release to feature a petrol engine. All models going forward will be EVs ahead of the recently reinstated 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars.

It will make use of the same platform as the much-loved VW Tiguan as well as elements from the Audi Q3 , both sister cars given VW Group's ownership of Cupra. The model is expected to be offered in pure petrol and plug-in hybrid specs, with the latter offering up to 62 miles of range on electric power alone.
