A cinema chain has set out plans for re-opening a site in North Yorkshire after taking over the building earlier this year, as it reveals the first images inside the newly revamped space. Savoy Cinemas, which bought the former Empire Cinema in Catterick Garrison earlier this year, has issued an update about what it will do as soon as it opens. While an opening date hasn't yet been set for the cinema, based on Princes Gate Shopping Park on Richmond Road, Savoy has released an image of what one of the screens will look like once converted.

Based in the Midlands, Savoy has cinemas in Doncaster and Nottingham - with Catterick being the seventh in the UK. In updated images, Savoy has shown the plush red leather seats and a new approach to the cinema building from its Grantham site, which will be identical to the Catterick one, while also setting out what customers can expect when it opens 'soon'.

In its most recent update on social media, Savoy Catterick said: "Movie magic will be returning to Catterick Garrison soon. "Here's a sneak peek into our reopening plan - initially, four cinema screens will reopen with their original seating layouts. "Meanwhile, the three closed screens will undergo refurbishm.
