A FIRST Dates participant was left choking up as he recalled being left heartbroken at the breakdown of his former relationship. The Channel 4 series returned to screens with a slew of new singletons hoping to find love under the watchful eye of Fred Sireix. For one single hunk on the programme, he was left fighting tears as he spoke candidly about the breakdown of his last partnership.

Glen, a father of four, was paired up with fire performer Hayley on the show and it instantly became clear that sparks were flying. The pair could not help but exchange flirty comments with one another as they bonded over their meal. However, away from the restaurant, Glen was left welling up to the camera as he spoke about being single.

In an emotionally-charged moment, he recalled the heartbreak at finding out he "wasn't the only one" in his previous 20-year romance. He said: "I'd found out that I wasn't the only one in the relationship. "That's how it kind of ended.

"I'm actually finding it quite hard to talk about." Taking a deep breath to compose himself and stop the tears he then added: "[We were together] about 20 odd years, so yeah, quite a long time. "I was 18 so I was quite young.

I didn't think I was going to be so emotional." Now in his 40s, he confessed he was ready to enjoy dating and meeting new people after deciding to learn to love again. Thankfully his spark with Hayley seemed unmatched as they enjoyed innuendo-filled banter as well as Glen comparing himself to 50 Shades of G.
