A “deliberate” blaze in a derelict Hull school is the latest in a series of fires that have dogged the listed building in recent years. Humberside firefighters were called to the former Blundell Street Board School , off Strand Close, Beverley Road , yesterday afternoon (Thursday, July 27). Images of the fire were captured from the air by a local drone operator.

A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call before 1pm on Thursday, July 25, to a fire on Strand Close in Hull. Firefighters arrived within five minutes and found that rubbish had been set alight in a derelict building. The incident has been labelled as deliberate ignition.
