The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Sunday officially received his twins in his palace. The twins, Prince Adeshina Ogunwusi and Princess Adesewa Ogunwusi, were welcomed to Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, five months after their birth. The joyful occasion was announced by the monarch’s Private Secretary, Adewale Adetoyese in a statement made available to newsmen.

The twins, born by Oba Ogunwusi’s third wife, Olori Tobi Phillips, were initially welcomed by the royal family on March 16, 2024. Following their birth, the mother and children had been living outside the palace. The return of the twins was marked by celebrations, including drumming and dancing, as captured in a live video shared by the Ooni’s private secretary.

The ceremony saw the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura, and Lowa of Ife, Oba Adekola Adeyeye, participating in the warm reception of the twins into the palace.
