The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear very likely to be without one of their promising rookies when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Tampa. WR Jalen McMillan , who suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Friday morning, is officially listed as doubtful for the game. Trey Palmer will take over in the WR3 role.
The Bucs have a staggering 19 players on the injury report, with only one of them - Lavonte David - being on there solely for rest purposes. Not an ideal sight to see with just three games under their belt. Fortunately, only three players have been listed as out and/or doubtful, meaning the rest still have a chance to play on Sunday.
Among those listed as questionable are key contributors Vita Vea, Luke Goedeke, and Bucky Irving. Vea managed to get in limited practices all week while wearing a brace on his knee. Goedeke is still working to be cleared from concussion protocol, although Fox Sports' Greg Auman believes he's on track to be available .
Irving, who asserts he will play on Sunday , appeared capable of moving sharply and quickly during practice on Friday. The inactive report issued at 11:30 am ET on Sunday will confirm whether some or all of those group are able to give it a go against the Eagles. The news is a little bit better for a number of other big names.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Tristan Wirfs, who all practiced in limited fashion during the week, all managed to avoid receiving a game status designation, meaning they're cleared and good .
