Nagpur: The sessions court is set to hear the concluding arguments from both the prosecution and defence in the high-profile Ram Jhula accident case on August 16, as per the statement given by additional public prosecutor Rashmi Khaparde. The case revolves around the allegations against Ritika Maloo, who is accused of driving her luxury Mercedes car in an inebriated state and ramming into a two-wheeler from the rear, resulting in the death of Mohammed Atif and Mohammed Hussain Mustafa on the fateful night of February 25 at the Ram Jhula. In the aftermath of the incident, the police have lodged a fresh case under the revised sections of the CrPC, following the rejection of their earlier attempts to revoke Maloo’s bail and take her into custody again by the sessions court.
Initially, Maloo was apprehended on February 25, but was later released as the police had charged her and Madhuri Sarda, who was accompanying her in the car during the incident, under the bailable section 304A of the IPC.
