THERE’s a colourful celebration of all things arts and crafts ahead, with the return of the Festival of Arts and Crafts. It will run from Saturday, September 7, to Saturday, September 21, at The Base, Greenham. In its third year, this popular celebration highlights creativity through arts, crafts, artisan food and drink from local makers and creators.

This year’s festival will feature a number of vibrant events for all ages to enjoy. To kick off the celebrations, The Base building will be surrounded by a captivating Arts & Craft Fair (Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, only), featuring stalls that will create a bustling market of high-quality crafters and artists for visitors to browse. There will be live music from local performers for visitors to enjoy while browsing the stalls, sponsored by Honesty Bakers and Makers.

The Base will also be offering creative Taster Workshops throughout the festival, including versions of some of The Base’s most popular workshops and courses such as Drawing with Wire, Silkscreen Printing, Urban Sketching and Pottery Throwing. Taster workshops will give children and adults a chance to experience a variety of crafts first-hand, capturing their imagination and encouraging their creativity in new ways, some of which they may not have been able to explore before. There will also be a Festival of Art Exhibition, featuring local artists’ work in the venue’s Gallery through the festival , offering visitors the chance to purchas.
