Overton County Sheriff’s Department recently seized fentanyl and methamphetamine after a traffice stop on Tuesday, Dec. 17. K9 Deputy Kamron Johnston initiated the stop.
“Upon approaching the driver’s window, I made contact with a male subject who I identified to be Jared Holman, juvenile passenger (Jared’s son), and a backseat passenger, Christopher Walker. I advised them of who I was and the reason for the stop,” Johnston’s report states. “While asking Jared for his license, registration, and proof of insurance, Jared stated he did not have a license.
I asked Jared if it was suspended or revoked to which he stated revoked,” Johnston stated in the report. The vehicle was registered to Holman’s wife. “I had Jared exit the vehicle and step back to speak with me,” Johston stated in the report.
“While speaking with Jared, I asked him if there was anything illegal in the vehicle to which he stated no there was not.” Johnston stated further, “I asked Jared for consent to search his vehicle to which he stated no. I advised Jared I was going to have everyone exit the vehicle and run my K9.
“While conducting a Terry Frisk on Christopher Walker, I located a used syringe in his back pocket, and Chris stated he had forgotten about that. I advised Jared that I now had probable cause to search his vehicle and all the contents within. “While conducting a probable cause search, I located a silver lock box on the drivers floor board and a black zip bag.
