Thiruvananthapuram: A 55-year-old man, Sasi Kumar of Sai Bhavan of Ponguvila near Venpakal at Neyyattinkara, was seriously injured after he was hacked by his neighbours , a father and son duo, for allegedly destroying a CCTV camera installed in front of their house. The incident took place around 10.30am on Sunday, and the Neyyattinkara police have arrested Suresh and his son Vinod, in connection with the incident.

They were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days on Monday. According to police, Suresh and Sasi were engaged in a verbal duel over the damage to the CCTV camera. The neighbours suspected that Sasi was behind the incident, as they were not on good terms for a long time.

When the camera was found destroyed, they strongly believed that Sasi had done it. During the heated exchange of words, Sasi and his family verbally abused them, which angered the neighbours. In a fit of rage, Suresh took a machete and hacked Sasi on his head after entering his house.

Sasi was immediately taken to Neyyattinkara general hospital and later shifted to the medical college hospital. The hospital sources have stated that his condition is stable. Suresh’s younger son Arun is also accused of beating Sasi’s wife Suji Rose during the altercation.

Police have registered a case against the father-son duo and are investigating the matter further. The father and son were booked for an attempt to murder under BNS Section 109. We also published the following articles recently 'Today was Pakis.
