Rare beans: The special-edition Linea Micra espresso machine is limited to 911 units. Limited-edition Porsche espresso maker Porsche has partnered Italian coffee machine-maker La Marzocco to produce a special-edition Linea Micra portafilter model. Limited to 911 units, it comes in either Slate Grey Neo, which is a Porsche colour, or in the iconic Martini Racing design, inspired by the 911 Carrera RSR that won the Targa Florio endurance race in Sicily, Italy, in 1973.
Presented at an event in London on Oct 21, the espresso machine is said to incorporate Porsche-inspired cues. These include the twist handles for steam and hot water, which resemble the car’s drive mode switch, and the analogue pressure gauges that take reference from the 911’s speedometer. Started in 1927 and based in Florence, Italy, the history of La Marzocco goes further back than that of the famed German sports carmaker, which was founded in 1931.
Available at Porsche Centres, Porsche’s online shop and Porsche Design stores, the espresso machine’s price starts at $9,040. Matching accessories, such as an electric coffee grinder, as well as espresso and cappuccino cups, are cost options.
